Medical Office Assistant

If you’re a people person who can help patients feel welcome while supporting the success of a psychiatric office and you seek a culture that promotes respect, then this medical office assistant position is for you. Organized, efficient and self-motivated, you will report to the office manager and perform administrative and clerical tasks to ensure that the office runs smoothly and successfully.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support
  • Utilize the Electronic Health Record system
  • Greet visitors
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries
  • Check patients in/out and schedule appointments
  • Receive and manage client payments for services provided
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Associate or Bachelor degree required. College credit in behavioral science (Psychology / Sociology / Human Development) is a definite plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of office computer applications (email, MS Office, etc.).

Job Type: Part-time

Previous Experience

  • Medical office or receptionist experience
  • Use of scheduling software
  • Processing Prior Authorizations – a definite plus
